2008 International Police & Fire Games General Information
Registration Information: Registration will occur at the Coronado Springs Resort located at 1000 W. Buena Vista Blvd., Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830. Each competitor must personally check-in with their department IDs and passports (if from outside the US) before their first sport. Hours of registration are August 16-23, 2008 from 8am – 5pm. Eligibility: Those eligible to compete are Sworn Peace Officers and certified Firefighters who have been employed FULL TIME for at least four (4) months. Peace Officers include all law enforcement agencies from corrections, county, state and federal levels. All others are considered civilian and may participate as "Guests" in a limited number of sports. Guests may be family members, non-sworn co-workers and friends Guests Sports: The following sports are approved for "Guest" participation: Bench Press, Powerlifting, Archery, Cross Country Run, Ten-K Road Race, Track & Field (no relays), Swimming (no relays), Bowling, Golf, Cycling, Half Marathon, Mountain Biking, Bullseye & Combat Pistol, Skeet, Trap, Sporting Clays, Stair Race, Toughest Competitor Alive, and Triathlon. Awards: Gold, silver & bronze finished medals are awarded immediately at the completion of each event for 1st, 2nd & 3rd places. Sportsmanship: It is emphasized that unsportsmanlike conduct WILL NOT be tolerated. Complaints from the officials/referees will be given the highest priority and consideration in any disciplinary action by the executive board. If in the opinion of the International Law Enforcement Games Executive Board, that a competitor has displayed excessive or abusive unsportsmanlike conduct on the playing field, he/she will be subject to immediate expulsion from all competition. Team Captain Information: Team captains are responsible for filling out the team roster. Click here for a blank roster. Team captains need to submit a completed application in order to receive proper credentials and free access to venues. Each player must submit a completed application. There are no TEAM FEES. Entry fee is $50 for the first sport and $10 for each additional sport. A person may NOT compete on a 40+ team and an open team within the same team sport. Admission Fee: All competitors and coaches may participate at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex free of charge. All spectators will be charged a daily entry fee of $11.50 for adults $8.75 and for children or a weekly pass at $19 for adults and $14 for children. Entry Fees: Entry fees are $50 for the first sport and $10 for each additional sport. Fees are to be paid in US funds only. Check or money order, no cash. Deadline: July 7, 2008 No applications will be accepted at registration (no walk-ups). Refunds: There will be no refunds. |
