TEAM COMPOSITION
1.   Team roster will not exceed 20 players.
2.   Eligibility is standard Florida Police & Fire participant eligibility Identification/Credentials will be shown by each player upon registration.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

1.   Each team will play three (3) games over the first two days with one day being a double header. A team's double header day will be determined by random draw. Teams will be placed at random into one of two divisions. (A) and (8).
 

2.   Games will be 7 innings or 21/2 hours in duration, with no new innings beginning after 21/2 hours.

3.   A twelve (12) run rule will be in effect after five (5) innings.

4.   In the event of a tie game at the end of seven (7) innings or 21/2 hours, the two teams will play no more than two (2) extra innings to determine an outcome. If the score remains a tie after those two (2) innings, that score is final.

5.    After each team has played three (3) games in the Round Robin Play, the two teams from each division with the best records and runs against total will advance to the medal round.

6.   Each division will play one semi-final game with the winners advancing to the championship game.

7.   The Medal Round will consist of seven (7) inning games with no time limit or tie rule. The twelve (12) run rule after five (5) innings will remain in effect however.

 

                GENERAL RULES

1.       A team lineup will consist of a minimum of nine (9) batters. The batting order provided at the start of the game must be followed.. Uniforms are mandatory and should be numbered on the back.

2.       Defensive changes may be made as often as the manager deems necessary. Only the starting pitcher can be taken out of that position and reinserted to that pitching position.

3.       All other pitchers cannot retake the mound once they are relieved. A maximum of three (3) designated hitters may be allowed to bat for three (3) defensive players. The designated hitters will be properly listed in the provided lineup and cannot bat out of order. When a designated hitter is replaced, that hitter is out of the game. When any other defensive player is pinch hit for; that defensive player is no longer eligible to play.

4.   On all close plays a runner must slide. The runner may not use a shoulder in an effort to dislodge a ball from a player attempting to make a tag. If physical contact is made and deemed inappropriate, the umpire will eject the player from the game.

5.   Metal spikes are not permitted. Only soft spike shoes or a tennis type shoe   

      are allowed.           

6.   Aluminum and wooden bats are permitted.

7.   Courtesy runners will be allowed for the catcher and pitcher only. The batter

must complete the run to first base or beyond, before being replaced by a courtesy runner.     

8.   Each team will produce three (3) game balls per game.

9.   The team batting will be responsible for retrieving fair or foul balls leaving the

             park.

10.  Flagrant violations, such as fighting, will result in the player's removal from

       the tournament.

11.  Players use of profanity directed at the umpire, will result in the players

       removal from the tournament.  

12.     Only the manager may approach the umpire on disputed calls and will be

done in a civil and respectful manner.
