EVENTS:

Competition is offered to men and women in the following age categories: 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, & 50+. Competition is offered in both individual and team categories. Competitors will participate in 5 events Stairway Evolution, Rope Hose Pull, Forcible Entry Evolution, Hose Drag and Squirt, and The Dummy Drag.

COMPETITION DURATION:

Competition lasts 5 hours.

GENERAL RULES: This is a timed event.

      Competitors must wear full protective equipment including bunker gear, helmet, gloves and boots. Competitors who fail to comply will be disqualified.

      Hose pack and roll must be placed in the box at the top of the tower. Penalty for not placing hose in box: 2 seconds subtracted from overall time. Penalty if hose is dropped from tower to ground: disqualification.

      The hammer must be placed on the mat after the entry event (Keiser sled). The competitor must hit the 175 lb sled squarely and not drag the sled with the hammer. Penalty for misplacing hammer or dragging the sled: 2seconds subtracted from overall time.

      Competitors must not knock down any of the cones during the zigzag run to the hose drag. Penalty: 2 seconds.

      The hose drag must include a complete advance of the charged line to the target area, striking the target with a water stream and then turning the nozzle ff before advancing to the next station. Penalty: 2 seconds.

      During the dummy drag competitors must drag the mannequin keeping the feet on the ground and completing the entire 100 ft to the finish line. Competitors may stop twice with total event time not to exceed 6 minutes. There is no penalty for not completing the event, competitors are just given a ‘Did not Complete" status.

      During team events the baton may not be dropped from the top of the tower. Penalty: disqualification.

      If the baton is dropped on any other portion of the course, the competitor returns and retrieves the baton and completes his/her portion of the event.

       

       

EVENT SPECIFICATIONS:

      Stairway Evolution: The competitor carries a 45 lb hose pack up the training towers five stories to the top of the landing and places the hose pack in the box.

      Rope Hose Pull: After depositing the hose pack into the box, the competitor will pull a 45 lb rope attached hose roll up to the tower landing and place that into the same box as the hose pack.

      Forcible Entry Evolution: Once depositing the rope pulled hose roll into the box, the competitor proceeds back down five flights of stairs to use a nine lb rubber hammer to move the Keiser sled 5 ft. The competitor then places the hammer on a 3’ X 3’ mat before running the coned zigzag course to the hose drag.

      Hose Drag and Squirt: The competitor runs the zigzag course to a charged 1 ¾" hose line and advances the line 75 ft to a target where water is discharged onto the target.

      The Dummy Drag: The competitor picks up a 175 lb rescue mannequin by dragging the dummy and keeping its feet off the ground 100 ft to the finish line.

    Individual & Team Competition.

      The entire course may be completed individually where all five evolutions are completed in succession.

      In team competition up to five competitors may compete and each evolution is completed by one competitor in sequence. Competitors must pass a baton to each other during the event.
